OUR HISTORY

OUR MISSION

Our mission at Fort Lauderdale FOP is to advance the working conditions, safety, and quality of life for our law enforcement professionals. We are committed to advocating for our members' rights, offering support and resources that enable them to serve our community effectively and with honor.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Founded on May 14, 1915, by visionary Pittsburgh police officers Martin Toole and Delbert Nagle, Fort Lauderdale FOP has grown from a small group of dedicated officers to a robust organization representing the interests of hundreds of law enforcement professionals in our region. Throughout our history, we have been instrumental in advocating for legislation, enhancing member benefits, and fostering a supportive network for our officers.

Our leadership team is composed of experienced law enforcement officers who are deeply committed to the welfare of their colleagues. Led by President Scott Moseley, each member of our executive board brings a wealth of knowledge and a dedicated spirit to our collective efforts.

Our Legacy and Contributions

At the heart of Fort Lauderdale's law enforcement community, the Fort Lauderdale Fraternal Order of Police stands as a pivotal force in advocating for and protecting the rights of police officers. Certified as the state Collective Bargaining Unit, our lodge not only supports officers in legal defenses and union representation but also actively contributes to the local and state law enforcement advancements through significant legislative achievements. As we continue to uphold the rights, training standards, and welfare of our members, we remain committed to nurturing the proud tradition that has been our foundation since our charter by the Grand Lodge in 1950.

Trace the legacy of leadership through our history of presidents who have shaped our lodge over the years.

From local community programs to national causes, our charity work is a cornerstone of our commitment to public service.
