Section 1. Time Off Provision - When there is a death in an employee's immediate family, that employee shall be granted a Bereavement Leave of a maximum of three (3) days in order to attend the funeral. Bereavement Leave will not be charged against sick leave, vacation, or holiday time.
Section 2. The employee's immediate family is defined as the employee's spouse, children, mother, father, sister, brother, grandparents, and parents-in-law.
Section 3. The City reserves the right to require documentation supporting Bereavement Leave after the employee returns to work. |
